Nestled in the foothills between Sacramento and Placerville is El Dorado Hills, a family community of about 18,000. Part of the community is the El Dorado Hills Business Park, which houses employers with more than 6,000 employees.

The area includes Serrano, a large master-planned community of 3,500 acres with over 1,000 acres of natural open space, miles of nature trails for biking and hiking, parks, shopping, and an award-winning golf course and country club.

A relatively short drive takes residents to South Lake Tahoe for entertainment, including winter skiing.

Highway 50 is the main commute artery to nearby Folsom, as well as Sacramento. The typical commute time to Sacramento for an El Dorado Hills resident is about 30 minutes.
